Introducing
BatSpeed has seen a lot of great, young baseball talent
in northern Illinois since it opened its facility in Gurnee
last summer. As part of its commitment to support these
players and develop them to their highest level of potential,
BatSpeed has created teams called the Lakeside Legends.
Game and Practice Schedule
Seven or eight tournaments will be played in the summer of 2010 in Illinois
as well as neighboring states. Tournaments are weekend events and begin
in June. All but one tournament will be handled as a day trip; only
one overnight will be required. Practices will be held once a week
and begin at BatSpeed the week of November 1, 2009 continuing through
the end of March, 2010.
Team Philosophy
Team members have already distinguished themselves through hard work
and the demonstration of solid baseball fundamentals. To prepare for
the next level of play, the following will be emphasized: (a) adherence
to a code of conduct which includes in-depth knowledge of the rules
of the game; (b) being respectful to everyone; (c) being on time; (d)
being fully mentally and physically prepared; (e) demonstrating good
sportsmanship at all times and (e) committing oneself to continued
development.
Team Coach

The 15U Legends coach is Jeremy Lutz. Jeremy is a member of the BatSpeed instructional
staff and has considerable experience coaching youth baseball. He started his coaching career as the coach of the Grant Bulldogs Travel Team. He then went on to become one of the four founders of the Lake County Sidwinders, a team that plays in the Mike's Memorial League. Jeremy is also the coach of the Lake Forest Baseball Association's 14Gold Travel Team. |
