Sue Garcia

Sue, who has been the head softball coach at CLC since 1987, has taken her teams to the state tournament eight times. This year the CLC team finished second. Her teams have won seven conference titles, including the 2007-2008 title for the Illinois Skyway Collegian Conference.

Pitching, hitting and fielding are covered in this comprehensive clinic. Take it and become a more complete player.

Both beginners and those with experience are welcome. BatSpeed’s individual approach to instruction insures everyone gets instruction tailored to their physical ability and playing level.

Pitching instruction examines the step-by-step mechanics of the “WindMill” including grip, wrist flip, arm circle and lower body motion. More advanced players will be shown common mechanical errors and how to correct them.

Hitting instruction covers the mechanics of the swing including the correct position of the head, arms, elbows and feet. The correct technique to shift weight in order to add power while maintaining a level swing and balanced stance is also examined. More advanced players will be introduced to the benefits of slap and situational hitting.

How to field all types of hits (line drives, grounders, pop-ups and bunts) from all positions is taught along with instruction on who is responsible for specific fielding situations.
